“Eliza was great at helping me navigate my first birth! Whether you want a home birth or a hospital birth, she is flexible. I had an unmedicated hospital birth and I appreciated her resources for birth prep. She is super responsive when you have questions. Eliza definitely cares about you, and she cares about your birth preferences. Plus, she took care of my husband during the crazy moments after the birth when I was getting plenty of attention from hospital staff but he needed food and rest. I didn’t think I’d want pictures of the birth, but I figured if I didn’t like them I could delete them. I think the part of my experience with her that was most meaningful to me was the emotional preparation for my second birth and the facilitation of the healing of my trauma with my first birth. “Eliza was the most wonderful birth doula! Right as my husband and I met her we knew we wanted to hire her as our doula – she is gentle, friendly, calm, knowledgeable and passionate about her occupation. My labor was very long. I was in early labor at home for over a day, and as this was my first time I needed extra support for what to do and how to get things to progress. She took hours out of her day to come support me, even though it wasn’t time to go to the hospital yet. When it was time, she was with me every step of the way for the 24 hours I was laboring! Needless to say, it was a very long and taxing labor. If I didn’t have her there, I truly don’t know how I would have done it. She was a grounding presence, and she never left my side.
