Rooted doula support to help you rise into your power
UTAH COUNTY BIRTH DOULA SUPPORT
Birth is a profound journey of becoming. Birth invites you to meet uncertainty, discover your strength, and step into a new version of yourself. You don’t have to face this journey alone.
Birth begins long before labor. Together, we’ll explore your options, clarify what matters most to you, and prepare your body, mind, and heart for birth. I offer resources and guidance so you can enter birth feeling confident, connected, and prepared.
BIRTH INTUITIVELY
When labor begins, I’ll offer calm, continuous physical and emotional support while helping you stay connected to your body and intuition. I’m there to remind you of your strength and ensure that your voice, your needs, and your preferences are heard and respected.
EMBODY YOUR POWER
However your birth unfolds, you can feel empowered as you listen to your innate wisdom and make your own informed choices. I’ll help you to navigate each moment so you can feel deeply supported and witnessed as you step into your power in birth.
Hello, I’m so glad you are here! I am Eliza – a birth doula based in Provo, Utah. After four transformative birth experiences of my own, I felt called to help others have their own powerful and positive birth experience.
While I have experience supporting every kind of birth in every setting, I specialize in supporting unmedicated births in or out of the hospital. I am VBAC certified and have training in Spinning Babies, advocacy, mindfulness, traditional rebozo techniques, and more.
Birth doesn’t always unfold they way we imagine. My role is not to make decisions for you, but to help you stay connected with your values, understand your options, communicate your needs and desires, and create a safe and supported birth environment. My belief is that you can feel powerful no matter what path your birth takes when you feel heard, loved, respected, and informed throughout your pregnancy and birth.
I see birth as a sacred rite of passage that deserves deep honor, respect, and patience.
I want a knowledgeable guide, experienced advocate, and loving witness to walk beside me and my partner through the unexpected turns of pregnancy and birth.
I want to take a physiology-first approach and minimize medical interventions when possible, knowing that birth is unpredictable and sometimes intentionally choosing a medical intervention is the best option.
I am open to working with a midwife as my primary care provider. Or, I have very mindfully selected an OB who is aligned with my values and supports my desires for birth.
I want to intentionally prepare my body, mind, and heart for birth so I can grow and transform no matter what path my birth takes.
I am committed to learning about birth through childbirth education, books, classes, and other resources.
I want to take an active role in my pregnancy and birth, understand my options, and feel informed and empowered in each decision I make.
I have previously experienced a cesarean or a difficult birth that left me wanting something different this time.
I know my birth experience will stay with me forever and want to invest in making it the best possible experience.
If you resonate with all or most of these, working together could be a great fit. I would love to walk alongside you and help bring your vision of birth into reality.
“I truly couldn’t have had the positive birth experience I did without Eliza! Not only did she have amazing resources that helped my husband and me feel prepared for birth, but her support in the days and weeks leading up to it made all the difference. I almost gave in and opted for an induction, but Eliza helped me cope through all the prodromal labor and was the greatest support when it was actually go time. I want her at all of my future births and am so grateful to have found her!”

“I am so grateful Eliza was my doula. Having her involved was one of the best decisions my husband and I made during pregnancy. I loved that she came over to our house a couple of times before delivery to meet with us. When I was pregnant and also postpartum, she often checked in on me via text, asking if I had any questions and how I was doing. She has a lending library with great books and she provided lots of pregnancy and postpartum resources as well. I had to make some changes to my birth plan while in labor and Eliza stayed by my side, literally holding my hand the whole time, and helped to ensure that my ultimate goals were met. She went above and beyond supporting me during a long and challenging labor. I appreciated that she worked with my husband to help support me. I highly recommend having Eliza as your doula!”

“We loved having Eliza as our birth doula! From the first interactions we felt her calming and optimistic presence and that she genuinely cared about our family and this pregnancy. Her support extended outside of just our physical meetings. She was always thoughtful in checking in, sending us words of encouragement and helpful resources, and checking how I was feeling and doing mentally. She always validated what I was feeling, especially as I processed my previous birth experience. She offered me valuable resources that included exercises to help better position my baby, a book recommendation that totally changed the outlook I had on this pregnancy, as well as other books from her lending library. She was so comforting during birth and held my hand the whole time I was stitched right after birth. I feel like I’ve known her for years. I would recommend Eliza to anyone! She was wonderful.”

“I had a wonderful experience with Eliza. I think the part of my experience with her that was most meaningful to me was the emotional preparation for my second birth and the facilitation of the healing of my trauma with my first birth. Aside from this, she was extremely flexible, supportive, and sweet through my pregnancy and delivery. She was constantly looking to help me in whatever way I needed, even though the birth ended up going much differently than I had initially envisioned. This included both physically helping me with my waves of contractions, making sure I was getting nutrients through the process, and offering emotional support. She was very respectful of my decisions and empowered me to make them through the process. I’m so glad she was there because she helped make the birth so beautiful.”

Eliza’s presence during labor was a vital source of peace and strength. She reminded me to relax, did counterpressure and other comfort measures, and anything else that was necessary to keep me going. I can remember clearly the affirmations she spoke in my ear during my most difficult moments. My husband and I both agree that we couldn’t have done an unmedicated birth without her there – she gave my husband guidance and gave me strength. It was such a positive experience with Eliza as our doula! Not to mention all the pre-birth conversations we had that gave me confidence, and the postpartum visit with her delicious meal! Eliza is incredible, and I plan to have her accompany me on my next birth journey.

Eliza was the perfect doula, and I have every intention of using her again if we are blessed with another baby. I wanted an unmedicated birth and was successful in that because of Eliza’s hands-on support as well as thorough education and involvement leading up to the birth. I think that’s my favorite thing about Eliza – she trusts the mother to know what is best for her baby, and has a deep conviction in the reality of “a mother’s intuition”. It shows, in her actions and her passion for doula work. And that is another thing I love about her – she is so passionate about what she does, which makes her involvement sincere. She genuinely cares, and her experience and knowledge are unmatched.

Eliza was the best doula I could have asked for! She is very knowledgeable and helpful before, during and after birth! I fully believe I would not have had a successful vbac without her help. I would recommend her to anyone and if I ever get pregnant again she is definitely who I am going to use! Her calming demeanor is so helpful during labor and she empowers you and helps you every step of the way. If you are thinking of getting a doula, do it! And use Eliza!
The lotus symbolizes transformation, inner wisdom, and the sacred journey of becoming.
Its life begins rooted deep in the mud, hidden beneath the surface of the water. Much like pregnancy, it grows in darkness, held in a place of safety as something extraordinary takes shape.
In its own time, the lotus rises toward the light and blooms. Birth also unfolds in its own time when there is safety, trust, and surrender. It is a beautiful and mysterious process that cannot be rushed or controlled.
Like the lotus rising above the water, birth is a journey of becoming. With every birth, a mother is born, too. She crosses a threshold into a new version of herself, discovering a strength and wisdom she may not have known were there.
I feel deeply honored to walk alongside families through this profound transformation, holding space for the physical, emotional, and spiritual unfolding of birth and the becoming of a mother.
